It all goes back a couple of months when Sudharsh and I attended the Yahoo OpenHack event, where we are supposed to build some interesting project within 24 hours and showcase it. We were one of the finalists out of more than a thousand developers.
We had a very simple idea – to index all your delicious bookmarks and enable full text search on the links with some nice way to filter the search results. Nothing fancy, but when we learnt that the applications were open for 2nd round of Start-Up Chile, we thought it would be a nice product if we add more features and market it well. And who would complain about a equity free $40k seed funding and the chance to work in a nice country.
So we quickly filled in the application and after more than a month of selection process, we became one of the 154 startups from 33 countries that got selected. We are planning to go to Chile in January and we will be spending 6 months working on the product.
The next step is to work on the product and release a beta soon and get feedback from the early adopters. Please subscribe to the RSS feed and subscribe to the newsletter at the right side bar so that you can get an early invite.
And also wish us luck.
